Covid Recovery
The next few years of schooling will involve recovery from learning loss during Covid. This is not a specific Aspen problem, but can be remedied with Aspen programs such as outdoor education, and a unified curriculum
Support Teachers
Retaining and attracting amazing educators is paramount to Aspen's future. The current ASD BOE has done a great job of acquiring more teacher housing, but the work is not done
Future of Education
Today, education looks different than it did when I was in school. Technology (internet, AI, etc.) has changed what and how students learn. ASD is tackling these changes with IB and unified curriculum, and I look forward to continuing to move ASD into the future of education
Balanced Budget
One of the main BOE roles is making sure that the schools are using tax money wisely and I look forward to being a conscious of that
Measures and Outcomes
It is important to make sure that ASD is on track with academics through the year and year-to-year. Accountability and transparency are key
